§ Privacy

Your family's privacy, in plain words.

Families trust us with the most personal things they own. This page says exactly what we hold and what we never do.

What we hold

Family trees, memorials, life stories, journals and missing-person cases that you choose to create — plus the account details you give us (name, email). Your journal is private to you. Your family's content is visible only to your family unless you publish a memorial or a case.

Missing & Found data

Missing-person cases are sensitive. Locations are approximate by default, contact details are never published, and information submitted through 'I have information' goes privately to the family keeping the case — never to the public page. Cases about children receive stricter defaults automatically.

Your control

You may correct, hide, download or withdraw your content at any time. Family administrators control their cases; a case can be withdrawn and removed from public view on request.

What we never do

We never sell personal data, never perform forensic identification, never infer identity or death from AI, and never publish private family information without consent.

Location detection

The Local page estimates your region from your IP address to show nearby weather and news. You confirm or change it yourself, and your choice stays on your device unless you are signed in, in which case it powers your monthly family digest.

Cookies & security

We use signed, httpOnly cookies for sign-in and a small number of preferences. Passwords are stored hashed; sign-in is protected against brute-force attacks; sensitive changes are recorded in an audit log.

Contact

Write to us any time through the Contact page to correct, export or delete your information.
